In the field of “braiding”, ifm uses variation braiding technology to develop complex braid structures for a wide range of applications, such as medical and safety technology. In order to develop research in this area, the Hof University of Applied Sciences must provide a braided facility with the following core requirements:
— Variation braiders with braided bed 8 x 8, equipped with additional inverter reels,
— design for synthetic, inorganic and carbon-based fibres in a wide range of fines and wire materials,
— the possibility of producing round, flat and square braids and combinations with each other,
— installation for the development of braided branch architectures,
— integration of standing and core threads,
— Continuous goods deduction.
In addition, other services have to be provided by the contractor.

— manufacture, delivery and commissioning of the tendered variant braider,
— acceptance of the Variation braider in cooperation with the client,
