The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency forms a framework agreement that includes three (3) different areas of track maintenance:
SECTION 1: DEMANDING SUPERSTRUCTURE WORK
The sub-area includes larger rail changes, gear changes, gear parts changes, welding work and work corresponding to investment projects. The subdivision comprises the track sections of maintenance areas 9, 10, 11 and 12.
LOT 2: SUPERSTRUCTURE AND AREA WORKS
This subdivision comprises track sections (for superstructure maintenance):
- (Äänekoski)-(Haapajärvi)
- (Kontiomäki)-Vartius
- (Vuokatti) - Lahnaslampi
- (Murtomäki) - Otanmäki
- (Kajaani) - Lamminniemi
The sub-area covers track maintenance in maintenance areas 9, 10 and 11, superstructure work and area work. The subdivision may also include area work in maintenance area 12.
SECTION 3: SKILL STRUCTURES
This sub-area includes the maintenance of culverts and bridges in maintenance areas 9, 10 and 11. This subdivision may include similar tasks in maintenance area 12.
There are several actors involved in the framework agreement. The duration of the framework agreement is 3 years.

SECTION 3: SKILL STRUCTURESMaintenance of railway tracks in Northern Finland. The tasks covered by this area are described in Annex 4.3 (list of tasks) and the quality requirements are described in Annex 5 Quality objectives.
