The Highways Agency invites Tenders from potential suppliers. All suppliers interested in tendering for the contract will be required to complete a Selection
Questionnaire and submit this with their Actual Tender Documents. Following the assessment of the Selection Questionnaire, suppliers that have passed the Scoring Criteria detailed in the Instruction for Tenderers will have their Tenders opened and assessed.
The Highways Agency under the Secretary of State for Transport is responsible for approximately 4 000 non-operational railway structures including bridges, viaducts, tunnels, retaining walls, and culverts distributed throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
For the purpose of this contract there will be one contract covering England, Scotland and Wales.
In the current Professional Services contract, approximately 75 projects have been undertaken. The actual services required during the term of the contract will be determined by the Highways Agency. Contractors who are interested must be able to demonstrate their capability to undertake the work i.e. Structural Survey; Structural Assessment and Analysis; Feasibility studies; Design of structural repair and Maintenance schemes; Design of new structures; Supervision of Contractors; Preparation of contracts; Management and assessment of tenders; Contract Management; Risk Management; Embankments - fill and analysis; Historical research; Health and Safety Advisor; Principle Designer, CDM Coordinator.
In addition to the above services the contractor will be expected to demonstrate their capability in Estate Management.
The Contract will commence in July 2015 and will be for a period of 3 years from the access date with the scope to extend by up to a further 2 years, subject to Highways Agency Operational requirements and satisfactory contract performance.
