Description:
Robotikanlage

Modular robotics platform with three standalone-capable islands and transfer points for global sample transport. Each island should contain at least one liquid handling system, a 4-axis robot on a linear axis, and a storage system. The overall system should also include: three incubators, a heat sealer, a film removal device, a centrifuge, three uncapping devices, three PCs, three reference positions, two pipette washing stations, a magnetic adapter, a labeler, a turning station, two shakers, two coolers, three barcode readers, two robot cells (1 x closed with 10 times air exchange for two islands; 1 x HEPA enclosure for biological safety level 2 for one island or better), two signal lamps. The system must be provided with software (execution, monitoring, device control, control of system functions, scripting) that supports an IT environment with flexible and open interfaces, database connectivity, online visualization and integrated user management.

The plant is intended to support the parallelized and time-optimized execution of various assays for drug identification and characterization in a highly flexible manner. The three subunits are to be divided into: 1. Compound management; 2. Molecular biology; 3. Phenotypic assays.

The robotics platform is intended to realize the automation of a variety of biological, biochemical, pharmacological and bioanalytical analysis methods. Mainly processes of high-throughput cloning, nucleic acid analysis and biological testing (whole-cell bioactivities and phenotypic analyses) are to be made possible. In addition, larger substance libraries (up to 10,000 substances in 96-well formats) are to be converted into tailored sub-libraries (96- and 384-well formats). In the field of bionanalytics, calibration series are to be created with high precision and samples are to be prepared in complex matrices for various analytical methods (LC-MS, qPCR, ddPCR).
