Aukra municipality has decided to develop the school at Julsundet. This will comprise both a new building/extension and light renovation of the existing buildings. The project also includes a multi-purpose hall that shall also be used as a community hall.

The school shall be dimensioned for 275 pupils and it is a 1st -10th year school. The agreed project cost is 104 200 000,- (2013 NOK). Total area: 4 690 m2 gross. 2 355 m2 new building and 2 335 m2 light renovation/alterations. The sports area is set at 350 m2.

The decision also includes an assessment of whether the sports area shall be increased to 25x45m so that an application can be sent for lottery money resources for the project.

The project is prioritised and shall be carried out as quickly as possible. This competition shall include all architect services for the project, based on the specifications.

The contract will consist of a sketch project with an option for the remaining work.

A new development plan for the area is being prepared.
