Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium Bad Harzburg: Extension of the school building
Heating and plumbing work
The district of Goslar is building a barrier-free extension at the Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium Bad Harzburg to create additional classrooms with a net floor area of approx. 2,100 m². In the 1st construction phase, the technical centre is to be built and the new drinking water / gas feed-in as well as the existing heat generation plants are to be integrated.
The top priority is to establish media freedom during the construction period for the dismantling of the existing heat generation plants and drinking water technology. In this respect, the construction site begins with the installation of the existing heat generation plants and the connection of the existing pipes for drinking water and heating technology. For this purpose, the period from May to the beginning of October 2023 is planned.
In the 2nd section, the old heating system and other parts of the building will be demolished. Accordingly, media freedom must be established here. In August 2024, work will continue on the new building.
The building is equipped with a pellet boiler (400 kW), condensing boiler (250 kW), fresh water station, buffer storage tank and heating distributor supply and return. These systems must be professionally dismantled, stored if necessary on a designated coordinated storage area and reinstalled or professionally installed in the newly built technical center. A major challenge is the disassembly and reassembly of the exhaust system for the heating technology. Here, the parts for the exhaust technology must also be professionally dismantled and reassembled; an area for the warehouses is coordinated on site. The aim is to return 100% of the new technical centre and the existing equipment from the old technical centre by the beginning of October 2023.
