SURF intends to purchase data center services at 2 different data center locations in the Amsterdam region. It is important that the requested services, and in particular their location, match the current situation, being the data center services already provided at Science Park. The aim is to achieve adequate redundancy in the services of SURF to its members by spreading the systems (servers and storage equipment) in an active-active configuration over three data center locations.

The intimate purchase is 4 racks at data center 2 and 4 racks at data center 3. The number of racks to be purchased is expected to increase. The current decrease depends on the developments in services and equipment. Tenderers must make a distinction in their pricing model between the costs of actual purchase and any costs of reservation.
