For the new building of a canteen building for Henry Ford Realschule, Karl-Marx-Allee; 50769 Cologne
The extension includes a canteen with a complete kitchen area for open all-day operation as well as side rooms, care rooms, complementary classrooms for media library and teacher workstations. The usable area for aforementioned areas is approximately 1 470 sqm in total. The design of the canteen is intended for the simultaneous catering of around 140 students (depending on the seating). The dining room is accessed through the foyer, which has a two-storey airspace. Vertical access and distribution across the hallways also follows in the central foyer. The sanitary facilities, including barrier-free toilets, are also located in the central core. In addition to the kitchen and its adjacent rooms and the dining room, there are also teacher workstations, an all-day office, the media library and an inclusion room on the ground floor. On the upper floor, 3 additional inclusion rooms and 5 care rooms and lounges as well as a chemical room including a preparation room are arranged.
The new building is planned as a two-storey building with a flat roof. A spacious glass façade towards the schoolyard (south-east) provides an unobstructed view of the neighboring green areas. The large cantilever of the canopy and the generous glazing towards the schoolyard creates the effect of a large frame and a prestigious, modern façade with facing masonry that opens up towards the park.
When choosing building materials, particular attention is paid to sustainability and ecological compatibility.
In the course of design planning, the aspects of energy saving and sustainability were optimised in advance through intensive planning and consultation of specialist engineers in such a way that the new building can not only be implemented from an ecological point of view, but also economically sensibly.
A total budget of approximately EUR 6.34 million (net) was determined for the construction project for cost groups 200-700 (excluding cost groups 710 and 760).
Provision is for a phased allocation on call, first familiarization with the results of project stage 1 and project level 2 to 3 (planning and preparation for execution).
There is no legal right to further commissioning.
