The contractor arranges doctor's appointments for the customers of BIG direkt gesund by telephone and online.

The BundesInnungskrankenkasse Gesundheit – BIG direkt gesund for short – is Germany's first statutory direct health insurance fund and is open nationwide. BIG was founded in 1996 by the Federal Guild of Hearing Aid Acousticians. BIG currently serves around 513,000 policyholders throughout Germany (as of December 2021). Like all statutory health insurance funds, BIG is a corporation under public law. More than 920 employees work in the head office in Dortmund, the legal headquarters in Berlin and the customer centers. As an IKK regional association, the BIG also represents the interests of the insured persons of the guild crane

kenkassen in Berlin. In this context, it performs numerous tasks of representing interested parties, either alone or jointly with the fund associations of local, substitute and company health insurance funds.

Since 2011, BIG direkt gesund has been offering its policyholders a nationwide telephone "doctor's appointment service" as a service. The service includes the fastest possible organization of suitable appointments with licensed general practitioners, specialists and paediatricians. Outpatient treatment appointments in hospitals are also assigned. Part of the range of services is also the optimization of already agreed appointments according to the specifications and wishes of the insured. In addition, electronic doctor's appointment requests and feedback for BIG insured persons are integrated into the password-protected "meineBIG" area of the client's web platform.

With the fastest possible doctor's appointment organization or optimization, the client would like to commission an external service provider and plans to conclude a contract with a maximum term of up to 4 years. Start of benefits is 01.02.2023.
