The competence centre is intended to support the BMWK, which is responsible for tourism and the tourism industry, in implementing the tourism policy goal of increasing performance in the tourism industry. In terms of content, it is to focus more on the transformation process towards sustainable tourism (green transformation of tourism).

The main services of the contractor include:

- Analysis and preparation of studies and expert opinions,

- Transfer of scientific knowledge on the green transformation of tourism into practice,

- Knowledge transfer of best practice examples; Identification of innovations and perspectives for green tourism in Germany,

- continuation, development and development of a wide range of information for the relevant disseminators in tourism,

- Conception and implementation of specialist events,

- Conception of ideas competitions and support of the projects selected on this basis and broad communication about their implementation.

The service is advertised for a period of 21.12.2023 - 20.12.2026. The contract can be extended once for a further 24 months.

The estimated total value refers to the entire contract period (base term plus extension).
