The programme shall examine the macro-algae and benthic composition on and in relation to selected kelp stations in Southern Norway. In addition, the temperature shall be monitored using temperature loggers on the kelp stations and data on key hydrographical and chemical support parameters obtained at given hydrographical/chemical stations. Two options are specified for the program. Both options cover the geographical areas associated with kelp stations and hydrographical/chemical stations.
The programme shall describe the condition and development of sugar kelp on selected kelp stations in the Skagerrak and the West Coast (options). This involves providing an overview of the environmental condition of the selected kelp stations and assess the cause - effect relationships for relevant factors that may affect these relationships. The programme therefore also includes hydrographical / hydro-chemical studies on selected stations and classification of water quality.
