Heart Lung Machines provide the mechanical framework for assembly of the Cardiopulmonary Bypass circuit used to support patients receiving cardiac surgery. The wide ranging cardiac surgical programmes at Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust requires the purchase of these machines to replace aging devices. It is anticipated that XXXX machines will be purchased in financial year 2013/14.

The machine consists of three major components, these are:

The Heat Exchanger (Thermo-regulator)

The In-Line Blood Gas and Electrolyte Monitor
