New building for the Staudinger comprehensive school with district library and children's and youth centre, Staudingerstrasse 10, 79115 Freiburg. Phase V, 2nd construction phase.

Heating and cooling systems according to DIN 18380:

A central heating system for a four-storey school building with a gross floor area of approx. 13,000m² will be implemented. A heating requirement of approx. 600 kW (1+2.BA) was determined for the new building. The central heating system was already built in the first construction phase and the outlets at the heating heat manifold were prepared for the 2nd construction phase.

Hot water heating is designed as a 2-pipe system with variable water volumes and speed-controlled pumps for heating and hot water preparation. In some cases, a 4-pipe system is installed for rooms with cooling requirements. Outlets required for the 2nd construction phase were provided as a provision. The rooms are heated by supply air heating and free heating surfaces approx. 80 pcs VL/RL 65/45°C and partly via underfloor heating VL/RL 35/30°C approx. 150m². Areas with surface heating are also used for cooling.

The cooling was realized in the 1.BA via 2 groundwater wells with a capacity of 350 kW each. Decentralized split refrigeration units are used to cool the two electrical/EDP/server rooms.
