Within the Directorate of Air Transport (DTA) at the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Sub-Directorate of Studies, Statistics and Foresight (SDE) carries out studies of traffic, competition and competitiveness to monitor developments in the air markets. Some of these studies are conducted through a database containing the actual origins and destinations (O / D) of air passengers as well as details of the routes taken in terms of departure, arrival, connecting and carrier airports. air, for the whole world. DTA wishes to acquire this type of data again to continue these studies in future years.
The holder provides the DGAC with a searchable database via an internet connection containing all O / D flows of the world's air passengers, specifying, in particular, the airports of origin, correspondence and final destination as well as the airlines used on each section. . It can be queried via at least 2 types of queries:
- type O / D requests: flow of passengers traveling between a point of origin and a point of destination whatever their route, including if they use one or more connections,
- "segment" or "leg" type requests: flow of passengers traveling on a segment (direct flights operated between two points), whatever their true origins or destinations.
Regarding the periodicity, the DGAC wishes to obtain at least monthly data, with a history of 10 years. This database is made up of data from MIDTs supplemented by other sources for O / D or carriers absent from travel agency booking systems. The data is therefore adjusted and reflects all global air traffic (ie It includes direct sales by airlines, charter airline passengers and low-cost airlines).
