Providing Professional Accreditation to the NS CLM courses.
The Naval Service (NS) is seeking a recognised UK awarding body to undertake the accreditation of its courses during the period from 1.1.2017 until 31.12.2019. The contract will encompass the professional accreditation of Command, Leadership and Management (CLM) training courses for officers and non-commissioned officers in both the Royal Navy (RN) and the Royal Marines (RM). These courses are undertaken at various military training establishments within the UK. Owing to the nature of the courses, the NS is looking for qualifications in the areas of leadership and management.
Each course must gain its own award without the introduction of additional work either during the course or after completion of the military training. The awards must be recognised by the Office of Qualifications and Examination Regulation (Ofqual) and sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The volume and academic level of each award will depend upon the ability of the awarding body to map the RN and RM training to their standards; however, the NS will be seeking the greatest levels of credit within the Ofqual guidelines. In addition, the contractor will be required to support the development of an assessment and verification regime that will satisfy the academic rigour required for the proposed qualifications.
