Haugaland Interkommunale Miljøverk IKS hereby extend an invitation to participate in an open tender contest in connection with the expansion of the landfill at Toraneset environmental park. The contest includes a turnkey contract for landfill stage 2, see a more detailed description in the Annex.

The landfill at Toraneset environmental park is a landfill for regular waste and was established in 1982. HIM IKS has a permit from the County Governor in Rogaland to operate a landfill in accordance with the Pollution Control Act, last updated in 2020. Landfill stage 1 will be finished in 2021 and a new landfill stage must be ready for use 1 January 2022. The work by suppliers must be completed 15 November 2021.

The new landfill stage will be built as a separate cell, with separate drainage/run-off further to the existing leachate discharge. A construction pit will be blasted out of rock and the landfill will be built in the blasted area. The landfill will be built so that the Waste Regulation's functional requirement for double bottom and side-sealing is adhered to. Likewise, functional requirements for drainage as well as collection of leachate must be met. See the Annex for further information about the work.
