The main purpose of this public contract is the preparation and management of meals in food, packaging and transport that meet the criteria of sustainable development, with healthy meals in communities of children from 3 to 18 years old.
These services take different forms:
LOT 1: European School of Brussels I — Berkendael site: The service includes the preparation and service of meals, for children from 4 to 12 years old, as well as for adults, on the premises of the school canteen.
AND The European Commission - Early Childhood Centres (CPE) — Berkendael site: The service includes
preparation and delivery of meals, snacks and snacks for children aged 4 to 12.
LOT 2: - European School of Mol: The service for the preparation and service of meals, for children from 3 to 18 years old, as well as for adults in the premises of the school canteen. The service will be done in self-service, and through different buffets. The preparation and service of snacks
SUSTAINABLE SCHOOL CANTEEN SERVICE FOR THE EUROPEAN SCHOOL OF BRUSSELS 1 AND THE OIB- European School of Brussels I — Berkendael site: The service includes the preparation and service of meals, for children from 4 to 12 years old, as well as for adults (teachers and administrative staff), on the premises of the school canteen.
- The European Commission - Office for Infrastructure and Logistics in Brussels (OIB) — Early Childhood Centres (CPE) — Berkendael site: The service includes the preparation and delivery of meals, snacks and snacks for children from 4 to 12 years old on the premises of the daycare, storage in refrigerators intended for this purpose as well as the cleaning of the dishes.
More specifically, this market is aimed at:
a) The preparation and management of meals for schools according to the principle of hot link. The kitchens of the European School of Brussels 1 (Berkendael site) are direct production kitchens where meals are prepared on site for their own site.
(b) The preparation and delivery of meals, snacks and snacks for after-school and “school leave” daycares organized by the OIB. The service for the after-school daycare includes afternoon snacks on all working afternoons and meals on Wednesday lunches. The service for the “leave” type daycare
includes an offer for a food day including a morning snack, a lunch and a snack. Wednesday lunchtime meals are prepared in the kitchen of the European School of Uccle (Berkendael) and are packaged hot, in bulk, without cooling below 65°C until the time of consumption. Snacks and snacks are prepared in the school kitchen and are taken to the daycare sections.
a) Additional services: The contracting authority reserves the right to order, to a lesser extent and on an exceptional basis, catering services on the occasion of certain events organised by the school. These services must be available upon request. These services must also be available outside the school calendar - at least one week before the start of classes, and one week after the end of classes. By way of information, this may include events such as parents' evening, teachers' back-to-school meeting, etc.
b) The contract also includes the maintenance and disinfection of the kitchens and their annexes as well as the cleaning of the common areas of the canteens, tables and chairs in the canteen.
c) Finally, account is taken of the supervision and training of kitchen and service staff, with emphasis on sustainable food and the socio-professional integration of vulnerable groups.
This market pursues several objectives for its two lots:
- Offer a balanced meal to school children on a daily basis;
- Participate in the education of children in the taste and pleasure of eating, in particular by introducing them to new flavors;
- Health and food balance.
The contracting authority wishes to pursue these objectives in such a way as to:
- Accessible: the price of meals should ideally not be an obstacle to their acquisition;
- Sustainable: the contracting authority wishes to limit the impact of this market on the environment;
- Pedagogical: the contracting authority wishes to awaken children to multiple ways of considering their diet, in particular by questioning the prevalence of meat food.
SUSTAINABLE SCHOOL CANTEEN SERVICE FOR THE EUROPEAN SCHOOL OF MOLEuropean School of Mol: The service includes the preparation and service of meals, for children from 3 to 18 years old, as well as for adults (teachers and administrative staff), on the premises of the school canteen.
The service will be done in self-service, and through different buffets. The preparation and service of snacks during breaks is also provided.
More specifically, this market is aimed at:

b) The preparation, management and transport of snacks and vending machines for the European School of Mol, during recreation breaks or lunch breaks. The vending machines will offer a list of drinks and snacks validated in advance by the School
FOR BOTH BATCHES:
