Tenders are invited for the provision of a coordinator to develop and oversee a Land use and domestic energy pilot project. The coordinator will link domestic heating and habitat restoration relating to turbary using existing funding opportunities such as SEAI retrofitting grants. They will have a particular focus on developing relationships and networks between LIFE IP Wild Atlantic Nature and the general public, community groups, stakeholders including policy makers and environmental experts, government departments and semi-state organisations such as Coillte. This contract will relate only to blanket bogs within the footprints of LIFE IP WAN.

This contract will relate only to blanket bogs within the footprints of LIFE IP WAN.
The coordinator will develop a template for reducing dependence on turf in the pilot Natura 2000 areas and demonstrate the process in using pilot households in the northwest.
Contract details and budget
The budget for this 2 year contract is €125,000 excluding VAT but inclusive of all expenses.
Tasks
On commencement of contract, the successful contractor will convene a steering group to ensure representation of relevant stakeholders and appropriate expertise to the project. The project coordinator will work with stakeholders to develop the project plan. The successful contractor shall provide a full technical and administrative function, which will include the provision of specialist advice, relevant training and materials. Other specific tasks are as follows:

3) Design of pilot project
4) Pilot implementation
5) Project reporting
Deliverables and timelines
Payments will depend on satisfactory progress with the following deliverables and timelines to the WAN project manager or other appointed WAN team member. It is anticipated that this contract will be awarded in mid-February 2023:
