The Remmesweiler pond sewage treatment plant was put into operation in 2002 as an aerated pond sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 950 PE. Essentially, the plant consists of a pumping station, a sand and scree trap, two aerated sewage ponds and a fining pond. Currently, there is no targeted nitrification, denitrification and phosphorus elimination.
As part of the implementation of measures of the third management cycle of the EU WFD, the Ministry of the Environment and Consumer Protection of the Saarland calls in the draft of the programme of measures to convert the near-natural Remmesweiler sewage treatment plant into a technical plant with nitrification, denitrification and phosphorus elimination. The aim is to be able to comply with the stricter limit values compared to Annex 1 of the Wastewater Ordinance.
The subject of the planning is the conversion of the existing pond sewage treatment plant into a technical sewage treatment plant with further nitrification, denitrification and P elimination in compliance with the future monitoring values mentioned in the table. The new sewage treatment plant is to include suitable mechanical cleaning consisting of a rake and aerated sand trap system as well as sludge stabilization.
The scope of services includes the planning of engineering structures according to § 42 HOAI, including mechanical equipment that serves the purpose of the engineering structure, as well as use-specific and process engineering plants in accordance with § 53 (2) no. 7 HOAI (cost group 470). To illustrate the scope of planning, the following are key components:
- Inlet or intermediate pumping station including pumps, piping and fittings, if required according to the concept
- Fine screening system including screening conveyance and handling
- Round or long sand trap including scraper, blower, ventilation device, pumps, piping and fittings
- Biological purification stage and simultaneous aerobic sludge stabilization including blower, aeration device, agitators. Pumps, piping and fittings and, if required, scrapers or clear water extraction equipment
- Sludge stacking tank including circulating device
- Rainwater overflow basins including pool cleaning units, piping and fittings
