JRC Karlsruhe plans to purchase a scanning electron microscope (SEM) for samples containing radioactive material.

The microscope will be used to analyse radioactive samples for their microstructure and elemental composition. Due to the radioactivity of the samples the device will be integrated into a shielded glove box. The implantation in a glove box is not part of the tender, but several adaptations for the nuclearisation are a part of this tender.

The purchase shall cover the delivery and installation of the equipment, including sufficient training/demonstration and the possibility of maintenance after the warranty period.
