The term of the existing framework agreement between the Bavarian Police and the State Office for Digitization, Broadband and Surveying / IT Service Center of the Free State of Bavaria (LDBV / IT-DLZ) for the maintenance, service, renewal and expansion of network components from the manufacturer Cisco ends at the end of June 30, 2021. In order to optimize the economic conditions and services, the Bavarian Police and the LDBV / IT-DLZ in Bavaria have decided to rewrite this framework agreement with the aim of achieving synergy effects and, through the conclusion of standardized contracts and processes, optimal framework conditions for the current to create the existing and future continuation of the network infrastructures. The term of the framework agreement is 48 months from the award of the contract, but no earlier than July 1, 2021.

Only Cisco components are used in the networks of the Bavarian Police and the LDBV / IT-DLZ. With the first manufacturer-neutral tender by the BLKA in 1999, the company Cisco was identified as the manufacturer and a system decision was made for further tenders. Subsequent vendor-neutral tenders confirmed the system decision made in 1999. During the contract period, the Bavarian police and the LDBV / IT-DLZ migrated to the Bavarian communications network in 2024 (BayKom2024). The construction of the necessary network infrastructures represents a portion of the components to be procured. In addition, the high availability of servers and applications with the existing Cisco redundancy concepts, as well as the compatibility with the existing homogeneous Cisco system landscape, must be guaranteed, as is the case with the Bavarian police as well as at the LDBV / IT-DLZ.
