The new school in Sundby will be built as a 2-track school from 0th to 9th grade with an associated CKR department, and an integrated sports hall will be built for a total of approx. 580 children and approx. 100 employees. Construction started in December 2020, but in December 2022, the turnkey contractor went bankrupt, leaving an unfinished building.
The building comprises a floor area of approx. 9400 m2. as well as an adjacent service building of 300 m2.
Overall, the school has the following functions:
• 0th–9th grade and SFO 1+2/Youth Club
• Classrooms for natural sciences and practical/musical subjects.
• Classrooms for food science
• CKR samt special-SFO
• Sports hall (with changing rooms)
• Welcome centre, library and canteen
• Management, administration and staff facilities
• Service building for operating personnel
• Outdoor areas, including internal traffic measures
The school will be Denmark's first permanent Nordic Ecolabelled school.
The assignment is offered as a turnkey contract, where a team consisting of contractor and consulting competencies completes the design and completion of the execution.
