Uninterruptible power supplies. The authority has a requirement for a capability to provide aircraft electrical ground power at both 28V DC and 400 Hz 200V AC output. Requirement for power is for fixed and rotary wing aircraft within the Military Air Environment (MAE) and related aircraft maintenance tasks.

The equipment shall meet but not be limited to the following:

(a) Equipment shall be compliant with current EEC directives, UK regulation and ISO standards relating to Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (Electrical ground power units).

(b) The equipment must be capable of providing an uninterrupted output ranging between 200V and 220V at 400 Hz and 28V DC.

(c) Must be capable of being easily manually positioned around the aircraft by two or fewer personnel, operated by a single person and have an emergency stop switch. It shall have anti FOD characteristics; Tie-Down and fork lift points for loading and transportation.

(d) Connection to aircraft shall be via a STANAG 3303 (AC) & STANAG 3302 (DC) plug to ISO 461-1 and 461-2. It shall be provided with a cable length to operate the system at a suitable and safe distance from the aircraft.

(e) Equipment must be suitable for outdoor use, operate at a temperature range of -10oC to +45oC and inform user of system status to enable effective and efficient operation.

(f) The Authority will require In-Service Support relating to yet not limited to,

— Provision of a support service for UK based equipment

— provision of spares to support equipment located at overseas locations

— provision of repairs to equipment located within the UK, having returned from overseas locations.

— technical publications

— training to Tri-Service personnel

— In addition to the initial purchase, the Authority will seek options for potential further purchases.

(g) The Authority has a requirement for 15 years support with the option to extend for a further 5 years.
