As part of the Family Pact concluded in 2014 and the factual reporting in the Council of Ministers' resolutions of 13.09.2016 and 28.11.2017, the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy (StMWi), together with the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labour and Social Affairs (StMAS), awards Bavaria's most family-friendly companies with the "Successful.Family-Friendly" award. The prize is awarded every two years. The first award ceremony took place in autumn 2016, the second followed in 2018, the third in 2021 (postponed by one year due to corona), and the fourth and so far last award ceremony on 15 June 2023. The next award ceremony will take place in 2025. The award will be presented at a ceremony at the Munich Residence.

The aim of the competition is to highlight the advantages of a family-friendly company policy for the image, success and generation of skilled workers of companies and thus to anchor a family-friendly corporate culture (among company management, managers, employees) and family-friendly personnel measures even more firmly in the companies and in the public. The award-winning companies are intended to be role models. For this purpose, a competition will be held.

For the implementation of the competition, an external service provider is required, who is available to the outside world as a visible, central contact person for all interested parties, applicants and participants as well as for the jury members and who takes on central tasks in the preparation, implementation and follow-up of the competition in close coordination with the StMWi.
