The Federal Health Insurance Fund - or BIG directly healthy for short - is Germany's first statutory direct health insurance fund with 414,000 insured and 307,000 members (as of January 2019). BIG directly healthy has its legal seat in Berlin, the seat of the main administration is Dortmund. BIG employs more than 700 people at its operative locations. As an IKK state association, BIG also represents the interests of insured persons in the guild health insurance funds in Berlin. In this context, she performs numerous tasks of representing interested parties, either alone or together with the health insurance associations of the local, replacement and company health insurance funds.

The subject of the order is a supply of care for the treatment of selected back pain diseases and specific diseases of the knees and hips on the basis of § 140a SGB V.

The subject of special care is the treatment of selected back pain diseases and specific diseases of the knees and hips according to the service / treatment modules listed in § 6 of the "Contract" annex. It includes the introduction via treating specialists, modules for avoiding chronification of back pain and for avoiding them medically not indicated knee and hip operations including physiotherapy initial and final analysis and an accompanying online therapy program.

The aim of the care offer is to improve the quality of treatment and care and to close existing gaps in care. A high-quality supply close to home should therefore be ensured within the framework of this contract. The goals of treatment are pain relief, avoidance of pain chronification, reduction of long-term medication as well as medical and physical treatment measures, reduction of incapacity days and avoidance of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation measures while improving the quality of life of the insured person.

The contract implements a quality-assured offer nationwide with a management company as a contractual partner within the meaning of Section 140 a (3) sentence 1 no. 2 SGB V.
