For the renovation of the head clinic at Heidelberg University Hospital, available space is required. For this purpose, the construction of a disposal building is to be examined at the 2nd BA new surgery building.
The following planning variants should initially be examined in service phase 2:
1st major variant: relocation of bed-leading clinics for eyes, ENT and maxillofacial disorders (NUF approx. 10 600 m
2. Small variant: relocation of ENT and maxillofacial bed-leading clinics (NUF approx. 7 400 m
In order to ensure a high degree of flexibility for subsequent use, the design as a modular construction should also be examined in order to optimize the concept in comparison to a conventional solid construction. As part of the preliminary planning, the execution as a hybrid construction (both basement solid, from ground floor modular construction) is to be examined as an alternative execution system for both planning variants.
A later dismantling of the modules and new constructions in conventional construction must be statically guaranteed. In the large variant, a connection to the park with a bridge for pedestrians and cyclists is also provided. Planning services for this bridge are not the subject of this procedure.
After completion of service phase 2, a concept for implementation is selected and further processed in the following service phases.
The planning method BIM must be used by all project participants.
The estimated total construction costs in solid construction amount to approx. EUR 100 million for the large variant: approx. EUR 75 million gross for the small variant.
The planned start of construction (preparatory measures) is in mid-2024.

Engineering services according to Part 4 Section 1 HOAI, service phases 1 to 6 according to Section 51 HOAI as well as special services in service phases 1 to 9.
As part of the preliminary planning, two planning variants must be worked out ("large variant"; "small variant"). Both planning variants are to be worked out as a conventional solid construction as well as a hybrid construction and compared. For both planning and system variants, a feasibility study was drawn up on the basis of a preliminary target space program, which must be observed as a planning basis.
