In the spring of 2019, a total of 45 bat boxes were hung in a wooded area next to the former trotting track in Recklinghausen-Hillerheide and at an adjacent fish pond. The sites are mapped in Appendices 1, 2 and 3.

The locations of the 12 triple house sparrow colony boxes and 22 other bat boxes are spread over three schools, a bunker, a kindergarten and a daycare center, all of which are also located in Recklinghausen-Hillerheide. The locations are mapped in Appendices 1 and 4.

Both the bat boxes and the sparrow colony boxes can be reached with a ladder.

Maintenance includes cleaning and checking for any damage or defects. In the case of the pure site control, it is only necessary to determine whether the 22 bat boxes are still present and whether traces of faeces indicate stocking.

Furthermore, the condition, trimmings and, if applicable, special features of all boxes must be documented in tabular form, including photo documentation for each box. The documentation template is provided by the client.
