Timber harvest 2023

The District Forests of the Duchy of Lauenburg are awarding timber harvesting services for 2023 in various districts (a total of 6 partial lots).

Felling and moving (including advancement) of long and short timber assortments

The District Forests of the Duchy of Lauenburg award timber harvesting services in the Gretenberge district for the period until 30.12.2023, but at best from September to October. The areas are centrally accessible via the A24 motorway. The work surface is essentially flat with some wet/damp passages. In places, steep areas have to be worked on. The soil is load-bearing, but loamy/clayey, i.e. sensitive to traffic.

The district forests of the Duchy of Lauenburg award timber harvesting services in the Steinhorst district for the period until 30.12.2023, but at best from September to October. The areas are centrally accessible via the A24 motorway. The work surface is essentially flat with some wet/damp passages. The soil is load-bearing, but loamy/clayey, i.e. sensitive to traffic.

The District Forests of the Duchy of Lauenburg are awarding timber harvesting services in the Grünhof district for the period until 30.12.2023. Since some of the areas include FFH, bird protection and Natura 2000 areas, the execution periods vary (see note in Appendix 1). The areas are centrally accessible via the A 24. The work surfaces are essentially flat and the floors are sensitive to traffic. In the forest village of Grünhof, the forest is heavily frequented and therefore has to be driven gently b. drought (NSG/FFH area).

The District Forests of the Duchy of Lauenburg are awarding timber harvesting services in the Brunsmark district for the period until 30.12.2023. In some cases, valuable timber must be delivered for submission on time (see Appendix 1). The areas are centrally accessible via the A 24. All stands are normal thinning stands, including the use of target strengths. These are exclusively flat and drivable locations on sandy soils.

The district forests of the Duchy of Lauenburg award timber harvesting services in the Niendorf district for the period until 30.12.2023, but mainly from October to December. In some cases, valuable timber must be delivered on time for submission (see Appendix 1). The areas are centrally accessible via the A 24. The work surface is essentially flat with some wet/damp passages. The soil is load-bearing, but loamy/clayey, i.e. sensitive to traffic.

The district forests of the Duchy of Lauenburg award timber harvesting services in the Hamwarde district for the period until 07.10.2023. The areas are centrally accessible via the A 25. And are located east of Geesthacht on the southern edge of the district of the Duchy of Lauenburg. The work surface is essentially a south-facing slope with partly. steep passages. The soil is load-bearing and sandy/gravelly. The entire work area is designated as a recreational forest. Due to the special importance of the forest area, it is imperative that the felling is started as soon as possible and is carried out with appropriate sensitivity. In some areas, nature conservation concerns can lead to temporary restrictions in timber harvesting.
