The BundesInnungskrankenkasse Gesundheit – BIG direkt gesund for short – is Germany's first statutory direct health insurance fund and is open nationwide. THE BIG was founded in 1996 by the Federal Guild of Hearing Aid Acousticians. BIG currently serves around 513,000 insured persons throughout Germany (as of December 2021). The BIG is - like all statutory health insurance companies - a corporation under public law. More than 920 employees work at the headquarters in Dortmund, the legal headquarters in Berlin and the customer centers.

As an IKK regional association, BIG also represents the interests of insured persons in the guilds in Berlin. In this context, it alone or together with the cash associations of local, substitute and company health funds carries out numerous tasks of representing stakeholders.

Election day is 31.05.2023. The main subject of the call for tenders is the technical and organisational handling of the 2023 social security election, which is secured by framework contract.
