The aim of lot 1 is to provide JRC-IPTS with the licence to access during 3 years a database on airline and airport traffic. The data will be used by JRC-IPTS for the development of simulation models for air transport demand, the analysis of air transport connectivity and accessibility, and the analysis of competition issues within aviation and with other transport modes. It should cover a time period of at least 10 years, starting the latest in January 2005. The database should allow the extraction of data of at least annual and monthly traffic.
The aim of lot 2 is to, during 3 years, provide JRC-IPTS with the licence to access a database of historic positions of maritime ships based on automatic identification system (AIS) submitted positions including both shore-based and satellite data. The data will be used by JRC-IPTS for the development of simulation models for maritime and inland waterways transport demand, the analysis of maritime port connectivity and accessibility, and the development of a port choice simulation model.
