The object of the service is the procurement of new routers for use in decentralized systems (control columns on federal highways, measuring vehicles of the Toll Collect field service, etc.), which communicate with central systems in the Toll Collect data centers via mobile network-based WAN/VPN connections. In addition, associated service, repair and maintenance services are procured.
The routers installed in the control columns are exposed to seasonal climate fluctuations (e.g. with regard to temperature and humidity) and must be suitable for such operation. In addition, the available installation space in the control columns is limited and limited to dimensions of a maximum of 270mm x 230mm x 70mm (W*D*H).
As part of the German truck toll system, Toll Collect (AG) operates decentralized systems (control pillars on federal highways, measuring vehicles of the Toll Collect field service, etc.) that communicate with central systems in Toll Collect's data centers via mobile network-based WAN/VPN connections. The Linux-based software of the WAN/VPN routers installed in these decentralized systems and their management application were developed in-house by Toll Collect (based on individual requirements).
Since the hardware of the relevant WAN/VPN routers no longer corresponds to the current state of the art, Toll Collect intends to replace/replace them.

The router hardware shall be "refuelled" by the contractor (contractor) with a software image provided by Toll Collect before delivery (pre-delivery installation, including a simple basic test to verify basic functionalities).
The order quantity is 700 pieces of router hardware. The order by the Client will be placed in Q1/2024.
In general, the contractor is only required to offer components that are technically supported by the respective manufacturer (including the required drivers) until at least the end of 2030. This also includes the service components maintenance/support, repair and refurbishment according to the service description.
