A central storage system from NetApp is being procured for the authorized office of the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office, which is to be used for their applications outside the CNP (Corporate Network Police).

In addition to the workstations, servers and other active components in the "Corporate Network of Bayer. Police ”(CNP) operates the“ Authorized Body Bavaria for Digital Radio BOS ”(AS BY) in its own AS network with other servers and applications that are used exclusively in the AS BY. So far, each server operated in it has its own hard disks, so that the maintenance of this hardware and the backup of the resulting data stock cause costly and labor-intensive efforts. In order to reduce this effort, to structure the data storage and for revision-proof archiving, a central storage system is to be procured which fulfills the following requirements. The new storage system to be procured is to be integrated into the aforementioned AS network and its form also serves as the basis for future projects and their performance requirements. Modularity and expandability are therefore required.
