The "smartBridge" project is a project initiated by the HPA that aims to accompany the digital transformation in the construction industry and promote innovative concepts. Within the project grouped around core technical content, various operational, strategic, partially research-driven pilot applications are to be implemented.
The core content of smartBridge is to pilot a sensor-based condition assessment in quasi-real time on existing bridge structures. The realization takes place via a digital twin (dyn digital simulation), connected with a modular conceived, adaptive system for state evaluation.
The implementation of the project and its core contents takes place on the Köhlbrand Bridge as a major demonstrator. The selected building is a built in 1974, consisting of several substructures large bridge over the eponymous Elbe inflow in the Port of Hamburg.
