Project management services for the project: M for Future - My Tram City Subproject 2, inner-city development and subproject 3, development of the Heiligkreuz-Viertel for the Mainzer Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH
Mainzer Mobilität (MVG), a subsidiary of Mainzer Stadtwerke (MSW), is the operator of public transport with buses and trams as well as a bicycle rental system in Mainz and the surrounding area. MVG is owned by the City of Mainz via Mainzer Stadtwerke AG (MSW). MVG currently operates 139 buses, 41 trams and around 1,200 rental bicycles. This means that around 185,000 passengers were moved or transported on a school working day in 2019 and more than 56 million customers in 2019 as a whole.
On 03.06.2020, the city council of the state capital Mainz and the city administration commissioned MVG by resolution to further develop the tram network in Mainz. In a first expansion step, the section Binger Straße, Alicenplatz to Münsterplatz (subproject 1), is to be planned and implemented. This is to be followed by further sections: the expansion of an inner city ring with development of Mainzer Neustadt (subproject 2) as well as the development of parts of the upper town and the new development area "Heiligkreuz-Viertel" (subproject 3).
The subject of the award procedure is the procurement of project management services in accordance with the underlying project description (document B1) or the specifications of the service description (document B2) and the project management contract (document C1) for the 2nd subproject "Innenstadtring" and for the 3rd subproject "Heiligkreuz-Viertel" with the services based on the AHO.
