Rogaland Theatre is a leader in Norway in terms of sound production and in 2017 was nominated for the Heddaprison [the Hedda Prize] for “best audiovisual design” with the production “Orlando” by Virginia Wolf with the new sound system, the Theatre shall achieve an optimal solution for audio designers, sound technicians, composers and musicians as a tool to create high quality audio experiences for the public.

The goal of the procurement is to have a high quality multi-channel sound system in the theatre, that shall function well for all of the theatre productions, spanning from classic theatre to “heavy” pop/rock concerts. The system shall also be simple to use for theatre employees and for guest performers with their own assistance. External expertise shall be accessible on short notice as needed. This will involve a need for service with competent personnel that can be involved in fault finding and error correction on short notice as well as have local access to backup equipment. There is an option on smaller audio systems in adjacent rooms on the same platform. The contract value including the option is estimated to be NOK 3 000 000 to NOK 3 500 000.
