The Swedish Polar Research Secretariat (SPRS) intends to invest in a multipurpose CTD winch system to be installed at icebreaker Oden. The scope of the procurement includes construction and commisioning of the CTD winch and an associated container in which the winch shall be placed.

The Swedish Polar Research Secretariat (hereinafter referred to as SPRS) intends to invest in a multipurpose CTD winch system for icebreaker Oden. The scope of the procurement includes the construction and commisioning of a multipurpose CTD winch system and an associated container in which the winch shall be placed. The equipment shall be installed by the Supplier in a 20" container including specified oceanographic wire, cables, ropes, blocks/sheaves, sliprings, junction boxes and signal distribution cables and be ready for operation.

​The scientific winches handling equipment on board research vessels are important ‘tools’ for the scientific operations. It is therefore of outmost importance that the capacities and functionality of the system is such that the handling of equipment over the bow and over the stern can be done in a safe and efficient way.

The contracting authority intends to sign an agreement with one (1) supplier with all terms set forth.

Since it is difficult for the procuring authority to describe the best technical solution for the system, the suppliers are free to suggest how the CTD-winch system should be designed. However, the offered system must at least fulfill the mandatory criteria in this procurement.
