The ISEK Hillerheide, which was developed on behalf of the city of Recklinghausen in 2015 and decided by the council, defines the following five key projects for the development of the Hillerheide district:

5. “Energetic district renovation”

The aim of the implementation of ISEK Hillerheide is to create a sustainable and future-proof residential area on the former trotting track area and to integrate it as best as possible into the grown Hillerheide district, taking into account the local development and infrastructure, the residents and their usage requirements.

In the course of the implementation of the flagship project 1 "Future Concept for the Former Trotting Track", a comprehensive reorganization of the 34-hectare fallow site is planned. In order to develop the site in accordance with the current master plan, it is first necessary to dismantle the existing buildings and make the site ready for construction before the construction of the sewerage and development systems as well as the creation of the open spaces can take place. The demolition of the building and the preparation of the site for construction and the construction of a landscaping structure have been completed.

Subject to the legal force of the planning approval decision, the subject of the tender is the construction of the lake excavation pit for the creation of the lake and the area profiling to achieve the planning heights in the construction sites being created on the former trotting track site.
