The municipality is facing a considerable task in the field of living and working. In concrete terms, more than 400 homes will have to be built on the municipal construction sites in the coming years. On the current number of approximately 6,900 homes, this is a substantial expansion. The municipal housing policy must also be updated. It is not possible to realize the expansion of the number of homes and the updating of the municipal housing policy with the current staffing within the foreseeable (approx. 3 to 4 years) time. The administrative wish is that pace is made.
The objective is to realize the next more than 400 homes on Texel. A new Housing Vision must also be drawn up in 2023 and subsequently the housing change evaluated.
