The scope of the supply are services to support manufacturing and R&D activities in the frame of ITER and other fusion projects under responsibility of F4E which will consist of material and mock-up characterisations at room and elevated temperatures, inspections and non-destructive testing of materials. Such services will also include, planning, preparation, manufacturing of specimens, execution, evaluation and reporting of specified characterisation or inspection tasks. The storage and, in some cases, the disposal of used specimens and leftover materials is also be included in the services scope.

The increase of the ceiling being introduced under procedure reference F4E-OMF-1555 is needed due to project needs which have increased beyond the foreseen estimations made in 2020.

The material mock-ups to be characterised in this framework contract will originate from manufacturing processes of components for ITER or other fusion facilities and from research and development activities or new material and components.
