The district of Erlangen-Höchstadt intends to build a new Emil-von-Behring-Gymnasium in Spardorf.

The service levels 3 - 5 of the project management service profile in accordance with the HAV-KOM project management contract, specified by the additional contractual provisions (ZVB-PS) to the project management contract, are commissioned. A corresponding training must be included in the requested flat rate.
The existing school building of the Emil-von-Behring-Gymnasium from 1972 will be replaced by a new building on the property. In addition to the grammar school, there is also the Ernst-Penzoldt-Mittelschule, a canteen, swimming pool and sports hall with outdoor sports facilities on the property.

As part of a planning and implementation competition, the planning task went to Babler + Lodde Architekten Part mbH in Herzogenaurach. The new building is designed for 1,300 students and about 150 teachers. Until the completion of the school building, the school will remain in the existing building without additional interim buildings.

Only after the school family has moved into the new building will the existing building be demolished. On this area, the school campus is to be supplemented by another sports hall (separate construction project) in the future.

The award of the property planning services in accordance with HOAI was carried out in the course of a negotiated procedure based on the Guidelines for Planning Competitions (RPW). Work phase 2 has been completed. The specialist planning services for structural engineering and technical building equipment were also awarded in the course of a negotiated procedure.

The six-storey new building is designed as a hybrid building and develops on a square basic shape, the gross floor area comprises approx. 18,000 m².

The future-oriented school concept and core of the planning design lies in the open learning landscapes, to which directly adjacent classrooms are now assigned.

The district of Erlangen-Höchstadt as contracting authority and awarding authority cooperates with the online system of the state gazette "eServices". This is where the announcements and awards are created and managed.

The total cost of the measure is roughly EUR 60 million gross (KG 200-700).

The client receives funding for this construction project. The contractor is also responsible for the preparation of the proof of use (cf. section 5.1.6 of the ZVB-PS) and the compilation of the cost shares from the cost determination in accordance with the requirements for the proof of use (cf. section 5.4.2 of the ZVB-PS).

Construction is scheduled to begin in February 2025, and a construction period of approximately 30 months can be assumed. The new building is scheduled for completion in July/August 2027, so that use can begin at the start of the 2027/2028 school year in September 2027.
