The renovation of the electrical engineering, conveyor technology, information technology and control technology of the vacant school building at Habsburger Straße 14 in Pforzheim is to be carried out in a targeted manner to meet the needs of a new school for children with intellectual disabilities (SBBZ Lernen).

As part of the renovation, the requirements of school use by the special clientele must be taken into account.

The structure with its electrical installations has significant defects, which have led to the expiry of the building permit.

A renovation must combine the requirements of the spatial program with the necessary measures to ensure stability, fire protection and building physics. A high demand must be placed on the economically sensible energetic optimization of building envelope, building services and electrical systems.

The school building with outdoor facilities is to be overplanned, optimized and fixed in a permit plan. The entire remediation process must be documented.

The procedure is structured in two stages.

In the participation competition, the application with basic structure and reference(s) is requested to select the suitable bidders. In the subsequent negotiation procedure, suitability and performance are determined on the basis of the office presentation, the presentation of the project outline and a completed project.
