The IBA Hamburg GmbH has been commissioned as a municipal project developer by the Authority for Urban Development and Housing to develop an attractive, dense residential area for all population groups, in accordance with the printed matter 2014/02753 "Further Development of Five Areas on the Elbinsel by IBA Hamburg GmbH". The basis for the development of the central Wilhelmsburg projects Elbinselquartier and Wilhelmsburger Rathausviertel is the relocation of the Wilhelmsburger Reichsstraße, which currently crosses the areas in a north-south direction. At the end of 2019, the new route along the railway line located to the east of the areas was put into operation. This allows for the development of new residential and working quarters on a total area of approximately 80 hectares in the two project areas by IBA Hamburg GmbH. Approximately 3,900 apartments, new commercial spaces, daycare centers, a primary and community school, as well as a landscape axis with small gardens, sports, leisure, and recreational facilities are being created on municipal land. The rapid cycling route with a parallel pedestrian path offers the unique experience of walking along or cycling through the landscape axis. In order to create a symbiotic connection between urban mobility and nature-oriented spatial design and to ensure the development of the Elbinselquartier, IBA Hamburg GmbH plans to build several bridges over the canals and water bodies flowing through the area. The subject of this planning (structural and structural planning) concerns 6 bridge structures (B3, B4, B9, B11, B15, and B16), which serve different functions: - B3, B4, and B9: pedestrian bridges that provide internal access and create barrier-free as well as attractive paths for residents and visitors. - B15 and B16: road bridges that accommodate motorized traffic and play a significant role in the traffic development of the area. - B11: a canal bridge that enables crossing of the Aßmannkanal, serves external access, and is designed for both pedestrians and cyclists. The planning is based on the preliminary planning from 2020 and the current status of the design guidelines for bridges WHB. The planning of the bridge structures shall be carried out using the BIM method (Building Information Modeling). The estimated attributable total construction costs amount to approximately 3,213,000 euros net.
