Finding Partners

There are many good reasons to look for partners among contract winners.

Your organisation may be specialised and while there are contracts you are bidding for on your own, there may also be contracts you cannot win, because you offer a subset of the whole contract.

When this is the case, you can use the report to find organisations who win contracts that also cover your product or service. They may be interested in outsourcing what you supply in future wins.

This also works from the viewpoint of the larger organisation who need more specialist subcontractors to be able to deliver on more contracts. Here the report can be used to find specialist suppliers that can be partnered with.

Another reason for partnering is to be able to take on bigger and more complex contracts. Finding one or more partners who can complement what you supply can enable you to bid for bigger and more complex contracts.

Yet another partnering opportunity exists around your go-to-market strategy.

Find someone who is targeting the same customers as you and see if there is an opportunity to share the go-to-market cost. Maybe they can sell your service or maybe you can sell theirs?

If selling each other’s products or services is not workable, maybe you can do some joint marketing and thereby get more cut-through and split the cost. One of way of doing this can be to organise joint webinars, seminars, events or share exhibition space at upcoming exhibitions.

Finding Customers

If your main customer type is not the public sector but those who supply the public sector, your can use the report to find customers.

Maybe you are selling something that is not a full product or service. If you are selling to customers that are selling to the public sector, the report becomes a constantly updated list of prospective leads.

Tracking Competitors

The report can help you better understand the competitive landscape as you can clearly see who is winning in your industry.

The interactive nature of the report makes it easy to see other pieces of valuable intelligence, such as the contract award, the number of bidders and the size of bidders (SMEs or not).

If you are not winning the bids you were expecting, you can use the report as a starting point for analysing why you are not winning.

Look at the price your competitors were awarded the contract at. Ask the buyer how you scored in the different categories to understand where you are doing well and where you need to improve, and remember, sometimes the improvement is an improvement in communication.

Finding customers and partners in other countries

Tenderlake awards report is also great for finding prospective private sector customers and partners in other countries that can be approached directly.
