Charging Infrastructure Düsternbrook, Technical Equipment Planning.
Project: Upgrading the power supply of the government campus Düsternbrook, based on the central transformer station with a replacement supply system in connection with the expansion of the charging infrastructure and along with the expansion of photovoltaics on the campus as well as adjustments to the house connections and supply lines. The government campus is located along Düsternbrooker Weg between Bernhard-Harms-Weg and Reventlouallee directed towards the Kiel Fjord and encompasses nearly 40,000 m² of usable space with the local state properties. The electrical supply necessary for the operation of the buildings is provided by the local supplier Stadtwerke Kiel through a customer-owned medium-voltage station from the so-called replacement supply system located under the parking lot of WiMi. All the lines supplying the buildings originate here and are installed up to the house connection rooms of the ministries. There are additional two transformers on the campus for building supply from the three transformers within the replacement supply system. The electrical systems of the medium-voltage station and the replacement supply system, with an age of 40 to 50 years, are due for renewal. With this renewal comes the increasing demand to create charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and to promote the expansion of photovoltaics. The state of Schleswig-Holstein has set the goal of converting its fleet of service vehicles to electric operation by 2030. For this purpose, charging facilities for service cars are to be established at the various buildings on the government campus. With the departure from fossil fuels, a simultaneous expansion of photovoltaic systems is also planned both statewide and here at this location. An interim compact transformer station with its own connection at medium-voltage level has already been established. This is intended to be integrated into the existing central medium-voltage station in the overall concept. According to the conditions set by the state government, the PV systems on the roofs will be maximally expanded. In cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, the first building at this site will be equipped with a photovoltaic capacity of approximately 170 kW peak. The further potential at the site is roughly estimated at 600 kW peak. The assumptions of substantial capacities require adjustments in the building feed-ins. It is indicated that for these connections / connection powers, the existing electrical infrastructure may no longer be sufficient and needs to be adjusted. This usually means either an extended new house feed-in or, in the worst case, a solution up to the medium-voltage level. The subsequent house installations, if they are from existing structures, must then be renewed according to the VDE regulations, which can lead to a complete reinstallation of the electrical wiring of the building. Therefore, a planning based on an inventory survey is initially required for the development of supply and infrastructure concepts up to LP 2.
