Description:
The project seeks a Contractor to provide research services aimed at developing and optimizing machine learning and AI algorithms for an innovative training programming system, requiring close collaboration with the Ordering Party's team.
Consulting service for Runflair Sp. z o.o.
I. Subject of the contract and basic information about the contract:
The subject of the contract is the performance of a Research Service necessary for the implementation of the Project. Within the scope of performing the subject of the contract, the selected Contractor will be obliged to carry out the tasks described in point II of this Inquiry.
The purpose of the Research Service is for the Ordering Party to acquire new knowledge and skills necessary to develop product innovation - technology for training programming based on computer vision technology, at Technology Readiness Level IX.
During the execution of the Research Service, the Contractor will be obliged to cooperate continuously with the Ordering Party and the Ordering Party’s research team. The cooperation will include, in particular, preparing guidelines regarding the scope, structure, and quality of data necessary for conducting R&D works, including training and validation of models and algorithms, as well as ongoing assessment of the suitability of data acquired and prepared by the Ordering Party. The Ordering Party, according to the Contractor’s guidelines, will acquire, prepare, and – if necessary – annotate data used in subsequent stages of the work. This data will then be used by the Contractor to conduct experimental development work, particularly in the training and iterative verification of the language model, development and testing of “Intelligent Trainer” algorithms, verification of the quality of their optimization, and formulation of recommendations for further development of solutions in the fields of ML, LLM, and AI.

Due to the necessity of cooperation with the Ordering Party, it is required that during the implementation period of the Research Service, the Contractor ensures that at least one member of the personnel assigned to carry out the contract will be present at the Project implementation site (address: ul. Życzliwa 33/2, Wrocław) twice a week. On these days, the personnel assigned by the Contractor will cooperate with the Ordering Party’s team at the Project site. The Ordering Party will ensure that the schedule of joint working days for the Ordering Party’s and Contractor’s teams is established jointly based on the provisions of the contract concluded with the selected Contractor. It is estimated that the joint working time of the Ordering Party’s research team and the Contractor’s personnel on each of these two days per week will be no less than 5 hours (between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.).
On other working days during the contract term, the Contractor will provide availability of the person(s) assigned to the contract via remote communication means, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On these days, the assigned person(s) will be obliged to perform the contract and remain in contact with the Ordering Party.

The service relates to the execution of research work of an experimental development nature – within the meaning of Article 2 point 86 of Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 – conducted as part of Task 2 of the Project entitled “Development of new algorithms for the ‘Intelligent Trainer’ function and integration of new models and algorithms into prototype software.”
The purpose of the Research Service is the development, verification, and optimization of solutions using machine learning technologies, large language models (LLM), and artificial intelligence, aimed at creating personalized training plans and supporting the functionality of the “Intelligent Trainer”.
The work will include, in particular, preparing guidelines for the scope, structure, and quality of data necessary for training the language model and ongoing assessment of the suitability of acquired data and created sets, then using this data in the process of training, testing, and iterative improvement of models.
Within the Research Service, work will also include selection and verification of research concepts in the LLM and AI area, development of “Intelligent Trainer” algorithms, analysis of results of successive iterations of models and algorithms, code testing before integration with prototype software, and evaluation of the quality of performed optimizations.
An important element of the Service will also be the verification of the operation of models and algorithms in conditions close to real, particularly regarding their quality, efficiency, and suitability for use in the prototype mobile application. The results of the work will form the basis for formulating recommendations for further optimization and development of the prototype application in the areas of machine learning, LLM, and AI.
The purpose of the development work is to use existing knowledge and the results of prior R&D works as a starting point for further work on models and algorithms used in the “Intelligent Trainer” function. The Ordering Party possesses results of previous work, including developed computer vision models and algorithms for movement and exercise technique analysis, as well as data and research findings produced in Task 1 of the Project. This material requires further analysis concerning its applicability to work on the language model and “Intelligent Trainer” algorithms, as well as iterative verification, testing, and optimization during the development work. The Contractor will work based on existing R&D results, not creating solutions from scratch; however, the nature of the work requires ongoing assessment of data quality and results of successive model iterations and responding to emerging research problems.

The Research Service will consist of the following tasks:
1. Participation in the process of training and iterative improvement of the language model, including analysis of results of successive training iterations, proposing and verifying research concepts in the LLM area, and formulating recommendations regarding the further course of work on the model.
2. Participation in the development of “Intelligent Trainer” algorithms, especially by proposing and verifying research concepts in machine learning, LLM, and AI, analyzing results of successive work iterations, and assessing the suitability of the developed solutions for achieving Project objectives.
3. Testing and verification of solutions before integration with prototype software, including participation in code tests, evaluation of the correctness of model and algorithm operation, and identification of areas needing further work or optimization.
4. Verification of the quality and effectiveness of optimization of models and algorithms, including analysis of optimization work results and, if necessary, proposing solutions for improving the quality, efficiency, or stability of developed components.
5. Verification of test results under conditions close to real, focusing on the quality, efficiency, and suitability of models and algorithms implemented in the prototype.
6. Preparation of substantive recommendations on further development and optimization of the solution in the fields of machine learning, LLM, and AI, based on the results of the conducted work, tests, and analyses.

Expected results of the Research Service are:
1) Monthly partial reports documenting the scope of work performed in a given month, obtained results, and conclusions from analyses, tests, and development work carried out.
2) A final report summarizing the results of the Research Service provided by the Contractor, including recommendations for further development and optimization of the prototype mobile application.

The Ordering Party reserves the right to supervise the contract execution process. Supervision rights include:
a) the right to verify documents and information provided by the Contractor, as well as algorithm code,
b) the right to assess the completeness and compliance of delivered results with the subject of the contract,
c) the right to request corrections or completion of information, documents, and algorithm code to ensure conformity with the Inquiry and the economic purpose indicated in the Inquiry,
d) the right to evaluate the results of the work performed by the Contractor.
The Contractor is obliged to submit to supervision. In particular, the Contractor undertakes to promptly respond to the Ordering Party’s questions and to provide, upon any request, the current content of the prepared documents.
The Contractor acknowledges that the proprietary copyrights to all works created as a result of contract execution, in particular source code, scripts, models, configurations, technical documentation, studies, analyses, reports, and other intellectual property rights and industrial property rights (if generated during contract performance), shall exclusively belong to the Ordering Party. The Contractor shall ensure full enforceability of this provision through appropriate agreements or arrangements with personnel assigned to the contract.
The Contractor acknowledges that all results obtained from the date of their creation shall be treated as the Ordering Party’s trade secrets within the meaning of the Act of 16 April 1993 on combating unfair competition and as protection subject to the provisions of Directive (EU) 2016/943 of the European Parliament and Council of 8 June 2016 on the protection of undisclosed know-how and business information (trade secrets) against their unlawful acquisition, use, and disclosure (Text with EEA relevance), Official Journal of the EU L 157, 15.6.2016.
The Contractor agrees not to use the research results without the prior written consent of the Ordering Party. Any use of the research results for publications or conference presentations requires the Ordering Party’s written consent.
