George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Targu Mures (UMFST G.E. Palade Targu Mures) launches the procedure for awarding the public procurement contract for products, with the object: Procurement of a Data Center within the project “DEEP_AI – Artificial intelligence-based solutions, enhanced by high-performance computing (HPC) systems for the space economy,” funded through the Intelligent Growth, Digitalization and Financial Instruments Program 2021-2027 (PoCIDIF) under the project call “PCIDIF/159/PCIDIF_P1/OP1/RSO1.1/PCIDIF_A1 - Support for RDI projects for thematic consortia between public-private partners,” Action 1.1, Measure 1.1.2, Project Code: 331722, Grant contract no. 390093/21.11.2025.
The procurement of products included in this procedure will ensure the development of a high-performance data center (HPC) focused on research and development. This advanced data center will specialize in training, simulation, and processing of large volumes of data and complex algorithms, especially in machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI). The research infrastructure will be operated by the project leader, George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Targu Mures, targeting five distinct use cases oriented towards applications in the space economy, monitoring and control of generative AI, and extending its applications in social and medical sectors.
Consequently, the procurement of the Data Center will have a significant impact on the development and enhancement of research and innovation capacities and the adoption of advanced technologies.
