Description:
The Prenzlau public utility is initiating a project to construct a geothermal heating center and facility technology, utilizing geothermal energy for district heating through heat pumps and related infrastructure at two designated locations.

The Prenzlau public utility is planning to reactivate the use of geothermal energy for district heating supply. In 2025, an injection well was refurbished and a production well was drilled for the implementation of the project. The facility will be constructed at two locations. The location at the production well with the wellhead cover and the heating center with heat exchangers and heat pumps is located at Thomas-Müntzer-Platz 4, 17291 Prenzlau. The second location at the injection well with wellhead cover and filter building is situated on Street Am Krankenhaus, 17291 Prenzlau. Both locations are accessible via paved roads. The scope of work includes the process engineering and electrical planning of the geothermal system and thermal water pipeline. The main locations of the system are the drill cellar and heating center at the drilling site Gt Prenzlau 4 (Thomas-Müntzer-Platz 4) and the filter house and drill cellar at Gt Prenzlau 3/89 (Am Krankenhaus), connected by a thermal water pipeline. The goal of the project is to provide heating energy through a heat pump system utilizing the geothermal energy from the underground.

LOT-0001
Construction of Geothermal Heating Center.
2. Description Lot 1: Construction of Geothermal Heating Center, Filter House, and Wellhead Cover. The tendered geothermal heating center, which is to be located at Thomas-Müntzer-Platz 4 (17291 Prenzlau), is intended to serve as a heating center with heat exchangers, heat pumps, and other facility technology in the future. The planned new construction of the geothermal heating center is a single-story building, which is divided into two parts with different building heights and roof designs. The total dimensions of the building are 38 x 16 m. The planned construction of the filter house is a single-story building with a solid flat roof and a building height of about 4 m. The total dimensions of the building are approximately 10 x 7 m. Additionally, a wellhead cover will be functionally tendered under a separate subtitle for the aforementioned building.

LOT-0002
Facility Technology Including Heat Pumps.
Description Lot 2: Facility Technology Including Heat Pumps. This lot includes the facility technology (heat generation systems), high-voltage technology, E- & MSR technology, and technical building equipment (cooling systems, indoor air systems, sanitary facilities). The creation of the drilling processes, including the wellhead, is part of a separate tender, with connection flanges to the wellheads or cable entry through these being the interface. The construction of the described buildings is part of a separate lot. The deep pump, the step-up transformer, and frequency converter, as well as their electrical installation, are part of a separate tender. The cabling between the transformer and frequency converter is part of this scope of work. The underground routes for connecting the locations and their installation are part of a separate tender. The interface connects to the underground pipelines within the building shafts. The cabling between leak detection systems and their monitoring unit is part of this scope. The technical characteristics are as follows: Thermal water circuit: - Main equipment: Slop tank, coarse filter, pressure maintenance tank with nitrogen charging, plate heat exchanger, fine filter, injection pump, control valve for pressure maintenance - Delivery temperature at the wellhead: 44 °C - Design pressure after injection pump: 40 barg - Flow rate: 130 m³/h - Water hazard class according to AwSV: 1 District heating circuit: - Main equipment: High-temperature heat pumps, pressure maintenance, circulation pumps - Supply temperature after heat pumps: 80 °C - Heating power: approx. 4.4 MW Heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and sanitary: - Ventilation for the above-mentioned, especially emergency ventilation for refrigerants - Cooling for the above-mentioned, especially heat pump room - general building technology Power supply for the above-mentioned: - Medium voltage switchgear according to EltBauVO, delivery station 20kV - 2 transformers with Sn el = 1.6 MVA - Low-voltage switchgear with circuit breaker for the power supply of the heat pumps. - UPS: Heating center: 10 kVA, production and injection well: once 5 kVA and once 2 kVA - PV system on heating center hall roof: 32 kVA MSR technology for the above-mentioned: The geothermal system is regarded as a standalone entity in the automation sector. Engineering and visualization take place via the central SCADA V10 facility. Data exchange with the field devices occurs via Profi-NET. Safety devices: - Refrigerant warning system - Nitrogen warning system - Leak monitoring thermal water - Fire alarm system for the heating center - Lightning protection for the heating center - Intrusion alarm system
