The EPFL intends to acquire a high-throughput DNA sequencing platform for its Gene Expression Core Facility (GECF / PTEG) of the Faculty of Life Sciences (FSV). This equipment will be operated jointly with the Genomics Technology Facility (GTF) of the University of Lausanne and is intended for cutting-edge research in the field of functional genomics. Special emphasis will be placed on RNA-seq and epigenomic profiling at both single-cell and bulk levels, as well as on genome and exome sequencing. This device is expected to enable medium to high throughput and typically be able to sequence both medium and large projects. The targeted optimal throughput is therefore at least 5 to 10 billion reads per individual run.
