The design, engineering, construction, installation, commissioning and maintenance of a (at least) 15 MW (at connection point) and at least 30 MWh usable capacity Battery Energy Storage System connected to the existing grid connection of HVC Alkmaar on the available free fields. Based on a full-scope turnkey EPC contract, including the BESS (battery modules, inverters, transformers, control cabinets, auxiliary equipment, network equipment), civil works (foundation, digging, fencing, security), cabling supply and laying, connection to the grid connection and battery management system (BMS). The contract should include adequate quality and performance warranties and additionally an O&M contract including the maintenance of the BESS.
The fencing, gates and camera security system of the BESS is also part of the EPC contract, to be taken over by HVC asset management at the take-over date. These items won’t be part of the O&M contract.
Also requested, but optional, is the delivery of an Energy Management System (EMS) with communication interface to monitor BESS usage in relation to the existing plant and the grid connection limits.
The Client will provide required planning and construction permits from the municipality, and permits for the HDD drilling to the grid connection. The Client will provide access to the grid connection. Contractor will have to liaise with the authorized personnel of the Client to ensure safe and reliable connection of the BESS to the existing plant.

Based on a fully turnkey EPC contract, including the BESS (battery modules, inverters, transformers, control cabinets, auxiliary equipment, network equipment), civil works (foundation, excavation, fencing, security), supply and laying of cabling, connection to the grid and battery management system (BMS). The contract must include adequate quality and performance guarantees and additionally an O&M contract including the maintenance of the BESS.
