Description:
The project involves the design and execution of modernization and construction works for the mechanical-biological section of the wastewater treatment plant in Nowy Targ, including upgrades to various facilities and systems to enhance operational efficiency without disrupting current operations.

The subject of the contract is the design and execution of the modernization and construction of the mechanical-biological part of the wastewater treatment plant in Nowy Targ. The planned investment aims to ensure the average daily flow of the wastewater treatment plant at the level of 21,000 m3/day and a PE (population equivalent) of 110,264.
The scope of the contract includes design, construction works, commissioning, training, testing, and handover for operation, as well as the preparation of all necessary documentation and obtaining all administrative decisions required to implement the contract in accordance with applicable regulations.
The attached Functional and Utility Program (Appendix No. 1) specifies the requirements for both design and execution regarding the expansion and modernization of existing mechanical, biological, and sludge parts within the wastewater treatment plant in Nowy Targ. It describes data and minimum requirements that shall serve as the basis for the implementation of the investment. The work related to the contract execution must not cause disruptions to the operation of the wastewater treatment plant.
The investment site is located within the area of the wastewater treatment plant in Nowy Targ, owned by the Municipal Water and Sewerage Company in Nowy Targ Ltd. The investment area mainly covers the central and eastern parts of the treatment plant area. This zone includes facilities belonging to the mechanical and biological treatment lines. The modernization also concerns sludge part facilities and associated infrastructure.
The scope of the investment, i.e. design and execution, includes in particular:
• Modernization of the inlet channel along with the construction of a by-pass
• Modernization of the main pumping station
• Modernization and expansion of the fine screen building - Replacement of existing screens with panel-hook screens with perforation of 6-8mm. Screens equipped with washer-press and a system for shredding screenings.
• Modernization of grit chambers and sand separators - Modernization and renovation of the building. Installation of chain scrapers / Renovation of existing scrapers. Equipping grit chambers with new pumps adapted for a larger amount of sand pulp. Repair of covers. Replacement of fittings. Addition of new sand separators.
• Modernization of existing primary settlers with expansion of the primary sludge pumping station - Replacement of scrapers in rectangular settlers. Wall renovations, floor reprofiling. Modernization of primary sludge drain. Expansion of the primary sludge pumping station and installation of a fibrous particle separator.
• Construction of a gravity thickener for primary sludge - Construction of a second gravity thickener modeled on the existing facility.
• Expansion of the biological part of the wastewater treatment plant - Modernization and expansion of existing reactors. Adaptation of reactors from SBR to flow reactors. Separation of chambers for defosfatation, denitrification, and nitrification. Installation of slow- and medium-speed mixers. Installation of aeration grids. Installation of internal recirculation pumps. Execution of instrumentation and control (AKPiA). Implementation of control system with alternating arrangement. Construction of three secondary settlers equipped with surface and bottom scrapers along with flotate scraping system and flotate pumps. Excess sludge pumping station consisting of an external recirculation system (3 pumps working + 1 spare), and a second system for discharge of excess sludge to excess sludge thickeners (3 pumps + 1 spare). Secondary settlers equipped with double-edged overflow trough – pilaster trapezoidal overflow.
• Construction of pumping station for floating parts - Construction of a flotate tank consisting of wet and dry chambers. The dry chamber is equipped with two pumps directing flotate to the sludge part of the treatment plant.
• Modernization of blower station including installation and equipment: technological, energy supply and control systems, ventilation – Equipping the blower system with a new high-efficiency and energy-saving unit enabling flexible and intermittent operation with biological reactors and coordinating with the existing blower system. Renovation and replacement of compressed air pipelines. Equipping with adjustable dampers and compensating fittings. Installation of air flow and pressure measurement on main pipelines supplying air to reactors. Adjustment of control system depending on the biological process operation mode.
• Modernization of the fermented sludge dewatering building - Complete modernization of the building. Replacement of sludge dewatering devices after WKF with decanter centrifuges. Adaptation of the entire building equipment to the new devices. Execution of dewatered sludge transport through a conveyor system directing sludge for further processing (drying).
• New measurement system for treated wastewater - Equipping the new measurement system for treated wastewater.
• Modernization and expansion of the dewatered sludge dryer - Construction of the dryer.
• Technological networks - Expansion and modernization of technological networks including water supply, process water, heating, energy, sewage networks, and other pipelines transporting media such as raw sewage, sand pulp, fats, excess sludge, primary sludge, flotate pipelines, control systems at the treatment plant, and all other necessary networks ensuring proper operation of the wastewater treatment plant.
• Hermetization and deodorization - Hermetization and deodorization including odor routing to filters - Facilities for hermetization and deodorization at the treatment plant include: receiving station, inlet channel, dryer.
